Radio 94.7 is bringing the heat this week, debuting The Academic’s brand new single Bear Claws.  According to Irish indie rock quartet The Academic, Bear Claws is all about being young and figuring out how to navigate through relationships.

“It’s about being young, kinda the beginnings of relationships, and you know, that kind of start like being in social situations, going to parties, forming friends and losing friends,” said vocalist/guitarist Craig Fitzgerald.

The Academic has been garnering praise from the likes of The New York Times as well as several European radio stations following the successful release of 2016 single Mixtape 2003, 2015 EP Loose Friends, and now Bear Claws. The band has scored opening spots with Noel Gallagher, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Twenty One Pilots, and has also supported The Strokes at Hyde Park in London.  Although they haven’t announced plans to release a new EP, The Academic does have plans to tour in the US, supporting Judah & The Lion.
